ProtoHUB

ProtoHUB – From an Idea to a Working Prototype

ProtoHUB is a development environment built for hands-on work; it is a central part of creative design, where ideas quickly take shape. Designs don’t remain as digital models; instead, they are built, assembled, and validated in practice. In the prototyping workshop, mechanical structures, enclosures, components, assemblies, and fittings are manufactured from various materials as part of product and equipment development.

Multidisciplinary Prototyping Environment

ProtoHUB combines mechanics, electronics, and software into a single development environment. We build functional device prototypes, integrate electronics and sensors into structures, and test usability, ergonomics, and manufacturability.

Digital models and physical prototypes are developed in parallel, which enables rapid decision-making and the validation of technical solutions at an early stage.

ProtoHUB can be used as a standalone development phase or as part of an integrated product development project.

Practical Development and Rapid Iteration

The development process combines digital modelling with physical construction. LINK’s designers work hands-on, turning their own designs into working prototypes rather than leaving ideas on the screen.

We do not separate design from workshop implementation. The same designers are responsible for the entire process, from concept to execution. This results in solutions that are technically sound, practical and ready for production.

Development work takes place directly in the workshop, ensuring functionality from the earliest stages. At LINK, advanced technical expertise is combined with hands-on skills.

Partnership Network as Part of Development

ProtoHUB is complemented by LINK’s extensive subcontracting network, which provides specialized expertise for consulting, manufacturing, and further processing needs. Rapid product development requires multidisciplinary expertise, which can be found within our partner network.

Clients can draw on the network as needed or use their own suppliers—the overall solution adapts to each project’s requirements.

What We Do

  • 3D-Printed Prototypes and Samples
  • Early-Stage Experiments and Mock-ups
  • Design and Appearance Models
  • Electronics Prototypes and Test Platforms
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI) Prototypes
  • Functional Mechanical Prototypes and Assemblies
  • Ergonomics and Usability Testing
  • Technical Analysis and Benchmarking of Competitor Products

It is more cost-effective to identify 100 small errors during the design phase than one major error in the finished product or service.
