The Story of LINK
In 2008, the collapse of a U.S. investment bank triggered a global financial crisis, forcing many large companies to reassess their operations. One was the large Nordic consultancy we worked for, which decided to withdraw from product development. That decision proved pivotal for us.
We strongly believed in the potential of product development and saw a future for outsourced product development and multidisciplinary design. The four founders therefore decided to take matters into their own hands, and LINK Design and Development Oy was founded in 2009.
Integrated Development—A Seamless Whole
The name LINK reflects our original vision: to bring different design disciplines together into one seamless whole—integrated development. We wanted to build a new kind of company that connects design, technology and usability to create value for our clients. We began speaking about bringing product, service and technology together.
Today, we are a multidisciplinary consultancy helping clients transform, digitalize and build commercially successful, sustainable products and services. Over the years, we have learned to operate across a wide range of markets—and that innovation, open-mindedness and the ability to listen go a long way.
Our work remains grounded in the same principles as when we started: listening closely to the client, thinking boldly and seeing every project through to completion.
