Fläkt set out to find a new solution for measuring airflow. The goal was to achieve more accurate measurement without causing a pressure drop. The solution also needed to operate quietly and improve energy efficiency. At LINK, we began developing a prototype that would meet the stringent requirements while remaining cost-effective for serial production. Using ultrasound provided several advantages over previous solutions and enabled Fläkt to establish technological leadership with a measurement solution that can be applied across multiple products and product families. Fläkt patented the ultrasonic technology, to which LINK made a significant contribution. Tens of thousands of units have been sold to date.

LINK was responsible for developing the embedded electronics and related embedded software. LINK also provided extensive support for algorithm development, Fläkt’s internal product development, and prototyping. This support continued through production ramp-up and into serial production.
