Climate School

During Helsinki Design Week, Climate School explored how climate action can be taken at different levels. The topic was examined from three perspectives, beginning with the root causes of climate change, moving to the city level, and finally focusing on the impact of individual choices.
Working with two school classes, LINK’s service designers created a new way to make sense of the topic: a climate action map. The map was developed over the course of a week through workshops introduced and supported by researchers and other experts. The process moved from shared knowledge toward individual, practical action. More than 60 participants took part each day.
The map was designed to create dialogue and bring together expert knowledge with young people’s own observations and experiences. The completed map was presented to Deputy Mayor Anni Sinnemäki at the closing event.
